So much BS flies around the net about Page Rank.. and 99% is just that.. “pure bullshit”!

PageRank was a really big thing about 3-4 years ago.. now.. in 2006 it counts for very little… and the case was proven yet again in the last major Google update.. when the pagerank of my main page - http://www.dangerdave.com.au/adult-links/main.shtml - went up… and I lost about 15% of my google rankings..

So pagerank DOES NOT equal better ranking in Google. It is just one of many, many factors… that influences how Google see and ranks your pages.

 

Lets get a couple of things straight from the start…

Page Rank - is exactly that PAGE rank.. it is NOT domain rank.

You can tell immediately if any reference you read on Page Rank is legitimate and written by someone who knows what they are talking about. They will only ever refer to page rank in relation to a page… never in relation to a domain.

This ‘page’ - http://www.dangersearch.com/ - has a google toolbar pagerank of 4 - The domain does NOT have a pagerank of 4, the page does…

eg: This page http://www.dangersearch.com/

That page… is actually this page - http://www.dangersearch.com/index.shtml - but that page has a Google Toolbar pagerank of ZERO

Yeah right!

Seems like every man and his dog are now posting their advertiser conversion stats on on special pages now and creating list of their favourite sponsors…

Apart from the fact they are all just a copy of the statistician… they all try to sell it to “you” as if they are doing you some big favour.. Unfortunately if that was the case they wouldn’t put their referral link in the link to the sponsor..

Also some of the “bigger” webmasters that do this post vastly distorted statistics with..

- no clarification/justitfication of the traffic sources,
- no information on the number of sites/pages measured or sending traffic
- a lack of information on a multiple other statistical anomilies or probabilities

So take them as they are… a big spam-fest that makes ‘them’ money..

One thing that really fucking pisses me off.. is programs that spam you about their program…. when you already bloody well promote them!!!!

I hate spammers, and I hate programs that spam their shit. My inbox is full of enuff crap already!

The 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals yesterday reinstated federal obscenity charges against a couple who sold pornographic videos depicting simulated rape and murder.

“The courts have consistently held that the right to free expression does not extend to material which is obscene,” U.S. Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan said in a statement. “We’re pleased with the Third Circuit’s decision.”

One thing that continues to give me the shits, is fucking “sponsor defenders”!

A sponsor disappears, becomes uncontactable, redirects webmaster links to non-paying sites, and does not pay webmasters the money that is owed to them - and certain people(usually other program owners) jump in to defend them…

Fuck off.. Thieves are thieves.. there is no excuse…!

If a program rips you off.. shout it from the roof tops.. let everyone you work with know about it.., and don’t let the kiss-asses smooth it over..

Sue them..
Call the BBB…
Call the Police…
Don’t let them get away with it..

You don’t let burglars take shit from your house and just accept it do you?!

Lots of people call “advertisers” and “affiliate programs” - ’sponsors’ .. and some still have lame statements about how these “sponsors support this site”.

It is time we got over this BS about advertisers or prgrams doing us “favours” by sponsoring our sites…

They are advertising programs that aren’t here to do you any favours… they are here to make $$, as we are…. So don’t fall for the hype about how ’sponsors’ are doing you favours, by giving you IPods, or bonus $$ etc… They are working for themsleves… as you should be.

Not everything you see and read about Search Engines should be taken as ‘gospel’ and none should be regarded as fact.

All information including that posted here, is opinions stated by people that either:
- have some understanding of the search engines
- have something to gain from telling you to do things one way or another.
- belief that their “dicks will be bigger” if they pontificate about things they really have no understanding of.

So.. read, analyse, read, compare, and read again… then do some testing to see what works.

Remember the only people you should be taking advice from are those that have proven search engine results, and work within the legitimate realms of search engine optimsation.

There are lots of definitions for “free sites”, but the one we are sticking to is the basic 3-5 page promotional free site.
